Drabble: Burn Tide (TOS)
Title: Burn Tide
Author: ebonbird
Characters: Mr. Spock (TOS)
Rating: NA
Disclaimer: Star Trek not mine.
A/N: When Lt. Uhura asked Mr. Spock about Vulcan's moon, he said Vulcan had none. I ran with it.
Vulcan has no moon.
He has T'Kuht. A planet. With a planet's gravitic pull. Had Vulcan oceans, the seas would tear the coasts apart, drag the land into the sea by increments large and small. Suborn the foundation of continents, turn all of Vulcan into sand and still, T'Kuht would pull and push Vulcan blood.
Some poets claimed the violence of our emotions came from T'Kuht's inexorable force. That the plak-tow coincides with the weakness of the Vulcan mind and higher functions with the blood fever. We control our emotions because T'Kuht made beasts of us. Made fools of us. T'Kuht made us shed our blood for love of her.
We sought wives and combat because it was in the rush, and slash, and burn...
We have no moon. Moons are cool.
T'Kuht burns.

We have no moon. Moon's are cool.
Moons are cool.
Will you post as is, or is it part of something larger? I like it either way and think it's ready to go out there.
Only one sentence I don't quite get, and I think it's probably me rather than you:
That the plak-tow coincides with the weakness of the Vulcan mind and higher functions with the blood fever.
The plak tow is the blood fever, isn't it?

Good! :)
I love the nod to Earth legend about the effect the moon has on human moods, and how much more turbulence this must mean for Vulcan emotions.
Even better. :)
Moons are cool.
And Nyota is like a moon to him. :D
The plak tow is the blood fever, isn't it?
I believe that's how T'Pau explained it in Amok Time, but, what if it's that and something else as well. I thought that blood fever only explained part of what I saw in Amok Time.
This is supposed to be Spock, I guess. :)
